After reading a lot of the articles over the past day, we were alarmed that the full story wasn't being told by any major news publication. Unfortunately, they took one piece of information and made a lot of assumptions and more importantly left a lot of information out because the truth is they weren't here. So instead of posting click-bait negativity, we are coming to you directly from the deck of the Celebrity Millennium to give you the full story of how everything played out onboard. The facts may surprise you. Below is the release that Celebrity sent out last night, "Today (June 10), two guests sharing a stateroom onboard Celebrity Millennium tested positive for COVID-19 while conducting the required end of cruise testing. The individuals are asymptomatic and currently in isolation and being monitored by our medical team. We are conducting contact tracing, expediting testing for all close contacts and closely monitoring the situation. Celebrity Millennium is sailing with fully vaccinated crew and guests and following comprehensive protocols that align with our destination partners and exceed CDC guidelines to protect the health and safety of our guests. All guests on Celebrity Millennium were required to show proof of vaccination as well as a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before sailing from St. Maarten this past Saturday. This situation demonstrates that our rigorous health and safety protocols work to protect our crew, guests and the communities we visit." Fast forward to this evening and when testing concluded those two (asymptomatic) cases were the only two on board. In the mainstream media, the most alarming omissions had to do with the rest of the guest on-board. The guest experience didn't change for anyone else on board. Yes, you heard that right. We enjoyed dinner, a show, and perhaps some late night snacks at the buffet with no changes in our experience. No masks, no quarantine, nothing... The response was swift, the protocols worked, and everyone else went on with their cruise.
