Pilotage services are suspended due to rough seas and high winds, impacting ships from Royal Caribbean, MSC Cruises, and Norwegian. Symphony of the Seas, MSC Meraviglia, and Norwegian Getaway are all delayed until at least Tuesday.The storm has brought unsafe marine conditions across the Northeast, keeping ships and passengers, waiting for the port to reopen. Symphony of the Seas will sail a single stop cruise to Perfect Day, axing Nassau and Port Canaveral. The Sandy Hook Pilots Association said the port is expected to open at 11:00 this morning. A Carnival Cruise Line guest wrote a strongly worded letter after discovering hot chocolate wasn’t freely available on the Lido Deck during a recent cruise on Carnival Liberty. Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald stepped in to clear things up. He said complimentary hot chocolate is available, just not all day. And that guests can still buy hot chocolate any time from the onboard coffee shop. Mentioning it’s also served for free on Lido after 6 p.m., and can also be ordered with the continental breakfast room service. Crystal Cruises is moving ahead with its first new ship in 25 years. The line says steel cutting for the newbuild will begin next May, followed by keel laying in December. The ship is set for delivery in May 2028 from Fincantieri shipyard.
