About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description↓

Hi Cruisers, I'm Sheri from CruiseTipsTV, here today with our Top 5 Tips for Cruising to Mexico Cruising to Mexico can be a fun and economical option for people who live on the West coast of the US and Canada. We've put together a few of our favorite tips for planning a great voyage! Tip 1 Pack for warm and cool weather. Remember, if you're cruising during the peak Mexico travel season, you're bound to encounter some chilly weather on sea days. On a 7 night cruise, You're going to want to pack for 2-3 cooler days, and 2-3 warm, tropical days when you're in port. Tip 2 Book some type of excursion or activity while in port. There is so much to see outside of the ports in Mexico. We strongly suggest you plan ahead and do something to experience the areas you visit beyond the cruise ship terminal. There are excursions for all activity levels, ages and preferences. From zip lining over a Canyon in Cabo, to shopping and visiting a glass blowing factory to air conditioned bus tours and ATV excursions, there's something for everyone. Do remember though that snorkeling in Mexico is different from areas like the Caribbean. This is the Pacific ocean so the water is cooler, and doesn't have that turquoise hue that you may be expecting. Tip 3 Pack $1 and $5 bills for tipping and spending. This may seem like common sense, but tipping your server or cab driver in port in Mexico can go a long way. It's also easier to haggle in the wonderful Mexican markets and shops when you have small change to play with. Tip 4: Learn a Little Spanish While the waiters and cab drivers and other service workers in Mexico generally speak a little bit of English, learning a little Spanish can make your trip extra special and is a sign of respect for any culture. Learn a few phrases and try them out. Tip 5 We like to Choose a balcony cabin on the starboard side. Why? When your returning backup the coast, you sail quite close to some great scenery and we've always found that we enjoy this side of the ship a bit better. Bear in mind, this is just a matter of opinion, but it's a secret that always pays off for us. *That's it for this episode. Be sure to check us out on twitter @CruiseTipsTV.
