We make a stop one of the most unique hidden gems in the American Southwest—Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada. Known for its incredible slot canyons, dramatic clay formations, and otherworldly landscapes, Cathedral Gorge looks like something straight out of a science fiction movie. With only one night to explore, we spent the evening hiking through the famous Cathedral Slots and Moon Slots as the setting sun illuminated the towering canyon walls with beautiful golden light. The following morning, we returned with our dogs for one last walk through the narrow canyons before beginning the long drive home to the Pacific Northwest. Even though it was a short visit, Cathedral Gorge quickly became one of the most memorable stops of our Southwest road trip.
