Dinsdag, 12 mei 2020: Coming Home 3. De derde groep bemanningsleden van de Holland America Group komt thuis met MS Nieuw Statendam. Naast de thuiskomst van deze groep heeft deze dag een extra feestelijk tintje! Het is de eerste keer dat MS Nieuw Statendam de oude thuishaven van de Holland Amerika Lijn aandoet. Bovendien viert de HAL dit jaar haar 147ste verjaardag. Speciaal voor deze gelegenheid heb ik gebruik gemaakt van een muziekstuk, in 2018 speciaal gecomponeerd door het Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest ter gelegenheid van hat 145-jarig jubileum van de Holland Amerika Lijn. Het stuk heet 1-4-5 Blues en werd geschreven door Mike Schäperclaus en André Heuvelman Op zaterdag 19 mei 2018 werd het officieel ten gehore gebracht door Rotterdam Philharmonic Banda en vond de primeur plaats op MS Rotterdam. Tevens werd met deze compositie de verbintenis tussen het orkest en Cruise Terminal Rotterdam bezegeld. GENIET! Tuesday, May 12, 2020: Coming Home 3. The third group of Holland America Group crew members will return home with MS Nieuw Statendam. Besides the homecoming of this group, this day has an extra festive touch! It is the first time that MS Nieuw Statendam visits the old home port of the Holland America Line. In addition, HAL is celebrating its 147th anniversary this year. Especially for this occasion I used a piece of music, composed in 2018 specially by the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the Holland America Line. The piece is called 1-4-5 Blues and was written by Mike Schäperclaus and André Heuvelman On May 19, 2018 it was officially performed by Rotterdam Philharmonic Banda on MS Rotterdam.
