We departed Wellington for an overnight sail down to the South Island for leg 5 of our cruise to Christchurch. The ship will arrive on the 23rd of February at 8am in Lyttelton Port which is about 30 minutes away from Christchurch. The Māori name for Christchurch is Ōtautahi, which translates to "the place of Tautahi". (Basically a location up the Avon River) We caught the shuttle into Christchurch to catch up with some friends for a coffee and then wondered around the city checking out some of the sights.
