We use the Upper Class Wing, explore the newly refurbished WHSmith in Terminal 3 and head into the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounge before boarding our flight to California. Inside the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse we take a look around the lounge seating areas, discuss the refurbishment changes and share more details about this trip, including Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary celebrations, our stay at Pixar Place Hotel, flying to Vancouver with Air Canada and boarding the Disney Wonder for an Alaska cruise in Concierge. We also explain how we used Virgin Points and a Disney Cruise Line discount to make this trip work financially, plus why Alaska felt like the perfect cruise to go Concierge. On board our flight, we show the older Upper Class seat configuration, the updated amenity kits and the full inflight experience from Heathrow to Los Angeles. We take a look at the inflight menu, meal service, lie flat bed setup, Mile High Tea and the social seating built into the seats. During the flight we also discuss the experience travelling long haul to the United States and share our honest thoughts on the food, comfort and sleep. After landing at Los Angeles International Airport we head through immigration and meet our Karmel Shuttle transfer service for the drive to Anaheim. Along the way we share tips for using ride share pickups and airport transfers at LAX, plus a look at some of the ongoing airport construction projects including the future people mover station. We arrive at Disneyland Resort and check in to Pixar Place Hotel, one of Disney’s onsite hotels in Anaheim, California. Formerly Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel has recently been refurbished with modern Pixar theming throughout the lobby, rooms and public spaces. We upgraded our room at check in and give you a full tour of our Premium View room featuring two queen beds, a daybed, Pixar artwork, amenities and views overlooking Disney California Adventure including Incredicoaster and World of Colour. We also explore more of Pixar Place Hotel including the Stor-E shop, Great Maple restaurant, fitness centre and pool area. For dinner we eat at Great Maple, the hotel’s table service restaurant, before heading back to the room to watch World of Colour from our room using the dedicated in-room audio channel. It’s the perfect start to this Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line holiday, and we cannot wait to share Disneyland-land's 70th Anniversary celebrations with you in the next vlog.
