On Friday, May 27, 2022, just after noon, the Captain of Allure of the Seas made an announcement that he was stopping the ship because of a vessel in distress. A search plane was first on the scene and located the small boat with about 8 people on board. The boat was taking on water. Allure's Captain sent a life boat and members of his crew over to the distressed boat with life jackets, food and water. The Allure life boat and crew stayed close for about 2 hours. The Coast Guard vessels arrived and rescued the 8 people.
