After a huge drive from Texas through Louisiana, we finally arrive in New Orleans for the next stop of our USA road trip. Along the way, we cross the Mississippi River, visit the famous Oak Alley Plantation from Interview with the Vampire, and explore the Louisiana countryside filled with sugar cane fields and small farming towns. Once we arrive in the French Quarter, things take a dramatic turn after a serious accident on our very first night in the city. After a stressful hospital visit and emergency surgery for Vera, we try to make the best of our time in New Orleans while waiting for updates. In this vlog, we explore Bourbon Street, try famous New Orleans food including jambalaya, beignets and hurricane cocktails, visit Café Du Monde, discover voodoo shops and jazz bars, and take an evening cemetery ghost tour to learn about the city’s fascinating above-ground tombs and haunted history. This was one of the most emotional and unexpected parts of our USA trip so far.
