Welcome back to Mer Cruises Solo - today I am boarding a brand new cruise line, one I've never sailed before -- Holland America Line! I am so excited; I've heard so many different things about Holland America, and one of the biggest questions I have is... am I too young for this cruise line? The HAL Volendam is their smallest and oldest ship in the fleet, but I could tell as soon as I stepped foot onboard that it has been renovated recently and is very well maintained and clean! Today we are cruising out of Montreal, Canada and we only have one sea day during this itinerary. We'll be stopping in several Canadian ports as well as Bar Harbor, Maine! All of these ports are brand new to me and I could not be more excited! I booked a guarantee Oceanview stateroom, and for this cruise I was assigned cabin 1910, a Large Oceanview on the very lowest level of the ship, Deck 1, Dolphin Deck. I have only one small complaint (but not really) about this cabin, and you'll see what it is. I will show you LOTS of spaces around the ship in this video, but a FULL ship tour is coming and I'll link that video here when it's ready! What did you think of the ship - is it too small? Too old?
