We pulled into this peaceful little Alaskan port super early and I was wide awake just in time for coffee and breakfast. The ship had some solid options from Mosaic Cafe to the full buffet in the dining room and I even tried one of their fresh doughnuts. After fueling up I headed ashore for a relaxed wander around Valdez. It felt refreshingly low key compared to the usual cruise ports with no big tourist trap vibe just quiet streets mountains and the chance to pop into a local spot called the Fat Mermaid for some Alaskan cod and a tasty milk stout. Back on board we caught the captain's update about tomorrow's Hubbard Glacier stop enjoyed some more ship food and took in the sail away through Prince William Sound. The day was a nice mix of great views solid eats and that easygoing Azamara atmosphere.
