At the time, it was at the edge of the Everglades, where they started a collection of tropical and subtropical fruit trees and shrubs. The Wray home still stands today. In fact, it’s now a museum illustrating a country home in the early 1930s. Today, the Flamingo Gardens has a fully accessible tour of the grounds and home, the Flamingo Gardens Botanical Garden and Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary.
