A simple slideshow of food on the Norwegian Star. See part 2 here: http://youtu.be/_7E0PwQc4uQ See the full ship tour here: http://youtu.be/k8po5MOrHuY Hi Cruisers, it’s Sheri with CruiseTipsTV with a look at the food we enjoyed while on the Norwegian Star. Dinners in the main dining rooms offer a wide variety of courses and choices, like fruit salad, green salads, sliders and a delicious fingerling potato salad topped with shrimp and dill sauce. There's also French onion soup or tomato bisque. There are even seafood appetizers like crab and cheese soufflé, conch fritters, and good old crab cakes. Classic entrees like lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese, and chicken breast remain on the menu nightly. The chicken Parmesan was good enough to order twice. The linguine with clams needed a few more clams, but the grilled corvina was to die for…the chatuebriand wasn’t bad and was served medium. Here’s a look at the steak diane, linquine with prawns and gnocchi with a very hearty beef ragu. The main dining areas offer typical kids entrees like pepperoni pizza, mac and cheese, and of course, burgers. There is a wide variety of desserts on board. Lunch in the main dining room includes dishes like calamari, spinach salad topped with shrimp, and mozzarella sticks and sliders. Entrees are tasty and include a salmon burger with awesome criss cut fries. We tried the chicken tenders, nachos. The open faced tuna sandwich is surprisingly good and goes nicely with, pho soup. For breakfast, we enjoyed pancakes, a made to order omelette and a side of biscuits and gravy. Blue Lagoon is the Stars 24 hour café. The menu is simple, but offers breakfast lunch and dinner comfort foods in a relaxing atmosphere with a gorgeous view. Here’s a peek at some of the breakfast options we enjoyed. Now for the best food on board. Cagney’s is an excellent steakhouse with a full selection of steaks and a few seafood and poultry options. Everything here is delicious. For our first course, we tried the arugula salad, crab salad, Mexican ceasar and wedge salads as well as the truffle fries, sliders, and shrimp cocktail. Here’s a look at a few side dishes- roasted beets, scalloped potatoes and onion rings as well as broccoli and mashed potatoes. The filet mignon here melts in your mouth. You can choose your toppings and sides. If you save room for dessert at Cagney’s, you’re in for a treat. We tried the oreo cheesecake, the raspberry crème brulee and the pistachio ice cream sandwich. Thanks for joining us, and we’ll see you on the high seas!
