Grandeur of the Seas: Baltimore, Maryland Departure and Arrival (In heavy fog and ice)

On January 11th, 2014 the Grandeur of the Seas departed from the Cruise Mayland Terminal in Baltimore Maryland for a 10 night Western Caribbean sailing. That day she was welcomed home to dense fog and torrential down pours that lasted the entire day and night. The polar vortex drifting unusually far south resulted in parts of the Chesapeake Bay turning to ice forcing the Grandeur to plow her way through some sections. As a result the Francis Scott Key Bridge emerged from the fog as she sailed into the icy darkness. She returned home on the 21st to slightly brighter and clearer conditions but was met with an impending snow storm that arrived about 8:30am just as the passengers were departing the ship.
