It's that time of year again, and what better way to enjoy it than taking a holiday cruise. We've created a list for you to check twice, but this isn't about who's naughty and nice. Here are our ere's top 5 reasons to take a holiday cruise. And we'll throw a tip or two in for good measure. Of course there are many reasons to take a holiday cruise, and we'd love to hear yours. Feel free to comment about your reasons. But now it's time to get to a few of ours. 1. Reason #1 = Holiday Discounts. Well, okay, the truth be told, holiday cruising can actually be quite pricey. But with planning and rigorous research it possible to find deals. Some of the best deals may not include the actual holiday date (such as Christmas), so if you are willing to cruise, say a week or two before a holiday, you could find a great price and still enjoy much of what a holiday cruise has to offer. Booking early is essential to secure your Holiday cruise. You'll get early booking savings, plus this is the time when lines start promoting the holiday discount rates. Work with your travel agent, and plan ahead. 2. Reason #2 = Decorations. Ships are typically trimmed from bow to stern in festive holiday décor. Light's, wreaths and trees, it can be quite breathtaking. 3. Reason #3 = Family time. The kids are out of school, and holiday cruises typically cater to families -- All kinds of themed parties, special dining menus and holiday activities will be available on board, and they're suitable for cruisers of all ages. If you're looking for a break from the kids however, try the more high end luxury cruise lines as they typically tend to have fewer little ones on board. 4. Reason #4 = Don't you just love all the holiday food? And don't you just love cleaning up all the dishes after? I didn't think so. Reason number 4 is - No post dinner dishes to wash! 5. And finally, Reason #5 = Warm weather. The thing about white Christmases is, they are cold. How about we just dream of white Christmases while we actually escape to warmer weather in exotic locations where the skies are always blue and the waters are crystal clear. Too late for early booking? If you like to gamble, try your luck with the last minute Christmas New Year cruise deals! This is not recommended for the faint of heart, but these can simply be the best prices on Christmas deals, IF you are flexible about where you will travel and what type of cabin you may end up in. It's a very risky, fast and thrilling experience. If you're up for a thrilling, last minute holiday booking, you could WIN BIG and end up with that surprise Christmas cruise after all! There are dozens of sites dedicate to last minute deals. You could start there, but a check with your travel agent is never a bad idea. One last holiday tip for you. Remember that the cruise staff working so hard to make your cruise happy and comfortable will be away from their families during the holidays. Be kind and cheerful with them, and maybe give a little something extra to help them stuff the stockings back home. That's it for this episode. Be sure to check us out on twitter @CruiseTipsTV.
