Holland America Nieuw Statendam Cruise Tour and Review in 4K | Holland America Line

We recently took a tour around Nieuw Statendam, Holland America’s, 2,658 guest holding ship. She embarks from Amsterdam, so we flew over to see what the ship is like and what it would be like if we were to take a cruise on-board her. This pool is open to the weather and the perfect place to watch the ship sail away from port or a sunset. Here there are 2 hot tubs as well as the main pool and a number of sun loungers to see them views! Don’t forget to grab yourself a drink as you watch the world go by at the Seaview Bar. The Lido Market is the buffet on-board. There’s a wide variety of options here. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is a wide range of food available for a casual bite. Expect American, Indian, Italian and the usual tastes you get from a buffet! Just outside is the beer on tap area. Which, is next to a nearby pool bar. At a small charge there’s a gelato bar too, for the hottest of weather. It all leads into the other pool, called the lido pool. This area has a retractable roof which, was closed while we were on. Here there are 2 tiers, with loungers surrounding the area. On top of this there’s the main pool, 3 hot tubs and don’t miss that Dive in movie screen. This screen features movies at night. Onto the front of Deck 9 there is the ‘Greenhouse Spa and Salon, the largest and most extensive spa area on a Holland America. Then we have the gym which, passes through to very front of Deck 9 with its panoramic views! Up on Deck 12 is the new retreat. This is an exclusive area of the ship for Retreat guests. There are private cabanas, exclusive bar and Jacuzzi. Let’s take the lift down to deck 2 and 3 to see the main place to eat 'The Dining Room'. Here there are 2 sets of traditional dining times on the upper level and a ‘dine as you wish’ style of dining on the lower level. You can choose to eat breakfast, lunch here too as well as the Lido. Many tables here seat 2-4 people and it has an amazing wine tower in the centre! If we stick on Deck 3 let’s walk towards the front of the ship where we can see Guest Services and the Dutch Café. If we skip back down to deck 2 there’s Blend. Here you can learn about wine from the ship’s wine expert at an additional cost! Right nearby is Club Orange. This is another new restaurant. It is for Pinnacle and Neptune suite guests. Here you can get breakfast and dinner. Then, we have Rudi’s Sel De Mar. This costs $50 per person and is a French Seafood Brasserie. Sel de Mer is open for dinner from 5:30 to 10 p.m. -- just a touch later than any of the other restaurants onboard. Next we have the ‘Pinacle Grill.’ And for fee American steakhouse restaurant that serves, High-quality steaks, chops and seafood. Carrying on walking forward on Deck 2, is BB Kings Blue’s Club. The music will be Blue’s styled and along with the stage there’s a chance for you to dance on the dance floor. Further forward is Notes a Whisky Bar and right next to it is the rolling stone rock room. The Rolling stone rock room. What will you hear here? Well… the waiter wear T-shirts from The Ramones, Pink Floyd and it’s named after the rolling stones… Across the Music road is The Billboard On-board. In the centre is a piano where piano players play pop hits and there’s a dance floor and a nearby bar to really make the most of your night! Right at the front of Deck 2 and 3 is the World Stage. This is the Theatre. It has 2 stories’ and is surrounded by 270 degree HD LED screens.
