How to secure a Cruise Ship job in 2022! 2022 is a great year to find the Cruise Ship Job you want. Find the confidence to apply for it, interview and land the job. Cruise lines and Concessionaire Cruise line companies (Retail, Spa, Casino, Photography) are looking for you. The ships sail into service, and cruise lines are looking for the next leaders to start a long and successful career on new ships due to launch this year. If you are the right candidate and have experience, you can land that job if you follow these five steps. Make sure you have an excellent clear CV, have someone check it; in fact, get a 2nd, 3rd or 4th person to check your CV. Make sure there are no grammatical or spelling mistakes. More information is below about what to highlight first on your CV you will be surprised by the answer. Always use email etiquette, and practice a reasonable follow-up procedure, don't email the recruiters every day. You will end up getting your email blocked. Read on for more tips on how to communicate with recruiters. Stay on point in your application letter, email and CV. It's all about your prospective employers business needs. Of course, you are applying because you want the experience, the financial reward. But all your employer is thinking about is are you right for the role and will you meet the needs of their business. Once you understand this, you can make yourself desirable as a candidate to the recruiter. See below for what not to do when applying for a position on a ship. English language, it is remarkable how many crew members and staff I have met that know 2, 3, 4 or more languages and has full command of the English language written and spoken. You must be fluent in spoken English and have basic written English knowledge. Most cruise ships cater to English speaking guests, so it is super important that your English is up to speed. If it is not, then practice, practice before you apply. See below for what not to say in an interview about this. If you get rejected, don't just keep applying using different email addresses; it creates more work for the recruiters. They will know it is you, and I have known recruiter's block email addresses and blocklist candidates. Better use your time and energy is to politely email (see point 2 above) and ask for the recruiter's feedback. Ask where you need to improve. If you need more experience, improve your English, or it could be any number of reasons. Most companies will give you feedback if you ask for it. You can reapply in 12 months. Or take that advice and apply to another company. Here are more links referred to in the video.
