Iceland Akureyri cruise port and its surrounding

Akureyri is a town in northern Iceland at the base of the Eyjafjörður Fjord. Akureyri features picturesque historic houses below snowcapped peaks, several museums and botanical gardens. We visited the botanical gardens during our cruise stop in Akureyri. From the cruise port, we walked through the town, up the long flight of stairs towards the church and continue walking up the hill to the botanical gardens. There are also private tours offering this excursion. Taxis are also available for hire. The Akureyri Botanical Gardens are free to enter. They are accessible during the months of June till September.
