The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière was built between 1872 and 1884 to thank the Virgin Mary for sparing Lyon from the plague. The AMAKristina excursion was on a tight schedule and while the group went to the Lyon outlooks, Steve and I ran in for a few minutes to admire what, in hindsight, should be a several hour visit.
