Welcome to our digs onboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas! This room type is a new experience for us! For this sailing we are in a Promenade View Interior Room! A Promenade View room is a category of room that overlooks the Royal Promenade public space! The Royal Promenade is a main hub on this ship that is a prime location for shopping, eating, and entertainment! It was very neat to have this view everyday and we had a lot of fun with it! The rest of the room is pretty standard with amenities such a as a “Royal King” bed, closet, vanity, mini fridge, and bathroom! This room is for double occupancy only and does not have any additional sleeping locations other than the bed. Because there is a lot of activity in the Royal Promenade, we get a lot of questions about the noise factor with these types of rooms. We could definitely hear the live entertainment very clearly from inside the room, but it did not personally bother us through out the sailing. One thing that was a little bothersome with this room in particular was its location right next to a crew service hallway that was noisy at times. This room was very clean and kept in good condition, but it had an 'older' style to it. The only small issues we had with the room was that the mini fridge did not get very cold and the bed mattress was a bit stiff. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed this room and we’re very glad we tried out a Promenade view room!
