YouTube Video Description

Ever wondered what a sea day is really like on an Alaska cruise? In this full-length cruise vlog, we take you along for an entire sea day aboard Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas while sailing from Juneau, Alaska to Victoria, Canada and trust us, it was anything but boring! Our day started with a funny mistake: we thought it was 7:00 AM, but our phones were still on Juneau time while the ship had already changed time zones. We didn’t realize the ship time was different until 2:00 PM after checking the Royal Caribbean app! Because of that, we accidentally missed breakfast at Windjammer and walked in at 10:30 AM to find lunch being set up instead. The amazing crew saved the day by making us fresh puri channa, a classic Indian and Pakistani breakfast. Lunch at Windjammer turned into an unexpected Alaska whale watching moment when we spotted whale blows right from the ship! We then hit the jogging track and walked nearly 5 miles (14 laps) while the ship’s fog horn blasted and the fog lifted to reveal beautiful mountain views in the distance. Later in the afternoon, after realizing our time mix-up, we adjusted plans to make it to bumper cars at SeaPlex (pro tip: get there 30 minutes early—we were first in line and rode twice!) and Indian buffet night at Windjammer featuring fresh jalebi, mango lassi, vegetable biryani, pakora (fritters), and chicken. Desserts were a big hit with Aliya! In the evening, we take you to some of our favorite hidden solarium nooks with stunning views of the bow, port, and starboard sides of the ship. We also share how we found a “quiet” spot to read (even though it turned loud!) in the Two70 lounge, played Scrabble, grabbed late-night Sorrento’s pizza, handled billing at Guest Services, and wrapped up our long sea day back in the room around 10:00 PM ship time. If you’re planning an Alaska cruise or wondering what to do on sea days, this video shows the real experience—from food and activities to unexpected moments and scenic views at sea. 👇 Let us know in the comments: Do you love sea days on cruises, or do you prefer port days?
