We are on a 14 night Icelandic & Norwegian Fjords cruise on the Caribbean Princess. One of our ports of call was Isafjordur, Iceland. Ísafjordur is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland and it is known for its dramatic landscapes. Isafjordur is also the biggest town and the unofficial capital of the Westfjords. We arrived in port on a Sunday and the town was a bit quiet, but we made the most of the beautiful, sunny day. After a bit of fun trying to find the correct pronunciation of the city and a bit of exploring the town we headed out on a Whale Watching Tour from the harbor. It wasn't the dramatic experience we were hoping for, but we did see humpback whales and quite a few Atlantic puffins. So come along with us and see what we did on our port day in Isafjordur, Iceland.
