In this week's episode, it's our final full day and last night at the beautiful Platinum Yucatán Princess All Suites & Spa Resort in Mexico as we celebrate Dee's birthday getaway. We expected to spend our last day soaking up the sun, enjoying the beach, and making the most of our final hours in paradise. Instead, we found out some to shocking news that quickly became the topic of conversation throughout the world. As information continued to develop, travelers were advised to remain aware of local conditions, and we ultimately chose to stay on the resort property for the remainder of the day. Needless to say, it wasn't the ending to our vacation we expected. Despite the unsettling news, we decided not to let it completely ruin Dee's birthday trip. Since we were already planning to spend the day at the resort, we continued exploring amenities we'd missed earlier in the vacation. 🏖️ We finally visited the beach for the first time. Unfortunately, we discovered large amounts of seaweed covering the shoreline, which wasn't exactly the picture-perfect beach experience we had imagined. Still, we made the best of it. 🍹 We grabbed snacks and drinks from the beach bar and buffet. 🏊 We relaxed in the swim-up pool. 😂 And witnessed one of the most unexpected sights of the entire trip when a fellow guest appeared to be enjoying the resort with absolutely no concern about who might be watching from nearby balconies. As the evening arrived, things improved considerably. 🍝 We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the resort's Italian specialty restaurant. 🔥 Watched an incredible fire show. 🌅 And had one of the best views in the house from our own private balcony. Even with the unexpected events that unfolded during our final day, we still managed to create lasting memories and celebrate Dee's birthday in a meaningful way.
