Creator's Key Takeaways

We did actually book a late flight so we could see a little bit more of Miami on our last day.

It was fairly early, so it was quiet.

We got there quite early and there were the regulars sipping their Cuban coffee, playing dominoes, chatting amongst friends and this is a tradition that's been in place for nearly 50 years.

We didn't really want to leave, but we had a plane to catch.

YouTube Video Description

We had a short time in Miami after disembarking Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady. Our flight was booked for early evening which gave us time (although limited) to visit Little Havana in Miami. Whilst this was an early morning visit, we found that the place started to liven up around 11am as the crowds started to gather. If you would like to know the history of this area it may be worth going on a guided tour before using your own time to explore further. We took the Trolley Bus which is free from the cruise port right into Calle Ocho in Little Havana. Website as follows: https://www.miami.gov/Transportation-Roadways/Trolley-Information/Get-Trolley-Information-Schedules-and-Maps We stroll down Calle Ocho taking in the sights and sounds, having brunch in La Esquina De La Fama, seeing the famous Domino Park and enjoying a cocktail and music in Ball & Chain which was lively as soon as the place opened at 11am featuring a live band! Ideally, we would love a night out in this place but that will have to wait until our next visit to Miami.
