Boarding the Sun Princess was supposed to be a dream come true. As kids of the ’70s, Princess Cruises was our first introduction to cruising, thanks to The Love Boat. Leading up to this trip, Corey even binged old episodes to get into the spirit — we were that excited. 🚢❤️ We splurged on the Princess Premiere Package, which includes prepaid gratuities, premium WiFi, premium drinks, and unlimited specialty dining — something we’ve never had the freedom to enjoy before. The plan? Try every specialty restaurant onboard. Unfortunately… embarkation day had other ideas. 😬 From over an hour stuck in port traffic, to lines wrapping far beyond the terminal, it took more than two hours just to board. Once onboard, every specialty restaurant showed zero availability, despite the “unlimited dining” promise. It wasn’t until we physically walked from restaurant to restaurant and spoke to hostesses that we were finally able to get seated. To top it all off, Corey’s checked bag didn’t arrive until late that night, adding even more frustration to an already stressful first day.
