Are you looking for a different way to experience the natural beauty of the island of Madeira? Well in this video we'll show you a relatively low cost and fun way to explore outside of Funchal A motorcycle and sidecar tour can take you quickly out of the city and experience beautiful panoramas and vistas with the wind in your face. These tours cost as little as 120 euro for two people and can collect you directly from the cruise terminal or your hotel. On collection you are provided with a crash helmet fitted with an inbuilt radio, pose for photos of course before hitting the road We opted for the most popular Old Road tour and we were whisked west of Funchal along the old coast road past banana plantations and into the pretty town and harbour area of camara de lobos, immortalised in art by none other than Winston Churchill. With our guide explaining the history of this chocolate box fishing village we then climbed to a view point high above to fully appreciate the dramatic setting. More photos before we continued along the old road climbing and climbing until we found a lovely cafe where we stopped for a coffee cake and a comfort break. Back on the road with the wind in our faces we made our way to one of the world's highest cliffs …Cabao Girao .. this viewpoint provides incredible views of madeiras dramatic coastline and has a glass walkway that allows you to see the drop below and it's not for the faint hearted And our 3 hour tour of this stunning part of Madeira was coming to an end and the scenery just kept coming. Whether riding pillion or in the sidecar this was a whole heap of fun and we simply loved it. Our guide was flexible about where he dropped us off and we were dropped off centrally in Funchal so we could make even more of our day. This had been an excellent and very different way to experience more of Madeira and was a fun alternative to the queues for the Monte Toboggan.
