She was launched on 8 February 2016.The ship was delivered on 30 March 2017 Majestic Princess sailed on her maiden voyage to Civitavecchia, Italy on 31 March 2017 from Trieste, Italy to Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy. The ship's godmother is the mother of the ship's captain Dino Sagani, Graziella Sagani. In July 2017, Yao Ming together with his wife Ye Li officially named ship in Shanghai.
