the juxtaposition of the immense structures and the beauty of the peninsula give the entire place a sense of eerie calm
it was a much more palatable and actually pretty delicious meal

Continuing my 5 night cruise to Tasmania onboard the Majestic Princess (October 2019), spend a day onshore in the beautiful seaside town of Port Arthur. This historical region is steeped in history, dating back to the 19th century. After starting life as a timber station, it was only a few short years before Port Arthur was repurposed as a penal colony. This former convict settlement is positioned in a gorgeous part of Tasmania, and the ruins stand in stark contrast to the natural beauty of the area. There are many things to see, and walking around the area is one of the best ways to cover it all. After a day onshore, it was time to board Majestic Princess via tender and find a late lunch. The lobster bar was calling, but ah, it wasn't actually a winning meal. A few cocktails later (they certainly hit the spot after the failed lunch) it was time to check out the outdoor fitness stations on Majestic Princess...sort of. A quick dinner in the World Fresh Marketplace, and it was time to call it a night after a very active day!
