Subscribe to the Eat Sleep Cruise YouTube Channel if you love to travel and cruise the world! https://www.youtube.com/c/EatSleepCruise1?sub_confirmation=1 FINALLY, we have a glimpse into how cruise lines are planning to start cruising again once the travel ban is lifted. This week, all of the major cruise lines made some kind of announcement or revealed plans on how or when they will begin cruising. We recap all the major updates from cruise lines including Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Holland America Line, and Celebrity Cruises. If you enjoy the video, please make sure to give it a BIG THUMBS UP! At the beginning of the week, Carnival Cruise Line announced a responsible and phased approach to resume sailing on August 1st. Along with the new August 1st start date, Carnival Cruise Line made several adjustments to its schedule of itineraries. First, it cancelled the line’s Alaska cruises for this summer. In addition, this phased roll-out approach includes resuming cruises from just three North America ports as of August. These homeports include Galveston, TX, Miami, FL, and Port Canaveral, FL. Perhaps the most surprising announcement this week was that Princess Cruises officially cancelled ALL Alaska, Canada/New England, Europe, and Transatlantic cruises and cruise tours for the remainder of 2020. While there are a few select sailings on Majestic Princess in the Pacific, the cruise line has essentially pushed back all cruising until September, which impacts the brand's new Enchanted Princess. Similarly, Holland America Line released an update also on May 6th cancelling ALL Alaska, Europe, and Canada/New England cruises for the remainder of 2020. While the cruise line might be in the process of shifting its fleet to different itineraries, the earliest Caribbean cruise that is currently available for booking is in October. Also, news broke early this past week that given the current global suspension, Norwegian Cruise Line had "substantial doubt" that the parent company would have the finances to continue operating under the current organizational arrangements. Although, the concern was short lived as the following day, the company was able to secure over $2 billion of additional liquidity. The company now expects to be positioned to withstand well over 12 months of voyage suspensions in a worst-case scenario. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises also made headlines with a new and improved Cruise with Confidence Policy. This enhanced plan covers all cruises booked by August 1st, including already existing reservations. Now, guests will have the ability to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours in advance of the sailing and receive a 100% future cruise credit on cruises up until April 2022! We have a detailed look at Carnival Cruise Line’s planned phased roll-out back on the blog. https://eatsleepcruise.com/2020/05/carnival-cruise-line-extends-cruise-suspension-to-august-1st/ 15 MAJOR Changes Coming to Cruising: https://youtu.be/4J_N14-fFY4 Top 10 New Cruise Ships of 2020: https://youtu.be/2ULGCSadPac Should You Take a Future Cruise Credit or a Refund for Your Cancelled Cruise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxNpsRq3YFY&t= Make sure to SUBSCRIBE to our channel above to get the latest cruise tips, cruise reviews, packing guides, port guides, travel tips, and more.
