The Hamam bathing culture goes dates back to Roman days. There are many of these spa-like facilities to choose from in Istanbul, including the famous Cagaloglu Hamam, Cukurcuma Hamam, and Sultan Hamams. I visited the Firuzaga bath, which was different and special in a few ways. The scrubbing, soap, and massages that I received were fantastic. That doesn't mean there weren't some surprises!
