Marella Discovery Cruise Ship late departure from Southampton for Newcastle 18/05/18

Marella Cruise Ship the 'Marella Discovery' arrived here in Southampton on the 18th May 2018 whilst en route from Malaga in Spain to Newcastle in the North East of the UK and this is her very first visit from the Marella Cruise Line Fleet painted with her new colours these colours give the ship a nice fresh look. The cruise ship which was brand new in 1996 was originally named as the 'Splendour of The Seas' and was in the colours of Royal Caribbean International. She was transferred to Thomson Cruises in 2016 and re-christened 'Thomson Discovery' soon after that had the name of 'TUI Discovery' when Thomson Cruises was re-branded to Marella Cruises in 2017 she was then re-named 'Marella Discovery'. She departed from Southampton's City Cruise Terminal later the same day at 21:00pm she actually departed about two minutes before 21:00pm for Newcastle from where she will conduct a series of cruises to Finland, Norway, Russia Denmark etc before returning to Southampton on the 4th September later this year so we shall have the opportunity to see her again a few more times.
