Split was the surprise of this cruise. The reviews we read before the trip led us to believe there was not much here. But they were wrong. There is stacks to do. It’s a big town with a rich history dating to Roman times and it really plays on those credentials. But you also get the benefits of a larger town with better facilities, shops and a market. The Marjam country park was a real find and well worth the walk and climb. You could easily spend a day just exploring this beautiful park with its historic exhibits, attractions and spectacular view points. There is also a nice beach here but you need beach weather to make the most of that. And we certainly didn’t have beach weather on our visit..
