MEGA CRUISE NEWS UPDATES - Exciting Cruise Industry News 2021, New Cruise Ships & Updates to Health and Safety Protocols// In this video we have a mega update and share the big cruise news stories from 2020 (that will take us into 2021). As cruise ships make their way back to the United States, there is good news for the cruise industry. We also go over some updates for cruise ship health and safety protocols and more! This the latest cruise news and updates from major cruise lines as they get ready to resume cruising in the USA and other countries: Carnival Cruises has taken delivery of the new cruise ship, Mardi Gras, which is the first Mega ship for the cruise line. At 180,000 tons, it has many firsts, including the first roller coaster at sea! This cruise ship is also has an LNG Propulsion system, making it one of the most fuel efficient cruise ships to sail in North America. Better for the environment, the Mardi Gras is a trend worth noting! Other new cruise ships delivered include Costa Fiorenze - very exciting news for the cruise line which will have this cruise ship sailing in Europe and then in Asia. We are expecting the Carnival Radiance to be ready soon, as it is getting a 2 Million dollar makeover and will be ready to sail in April 2021. In more news of new cruise ships, MSC is building 2 new cruise ships which will be environmentally friendly, a very positive step for the cruise industry and the future of cruising. Latest updates for cruise ships returning to the USA to get ready to start up cruising again (as per new CDC rules) include Coral Princess, Caribbean Princess and HAL Nieuw Statendam. These cruise ships have arrived at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. The popular cruise terminal is undergoing a 120 million dollar renovation which will be great for cruising in 2021 and 2022 and beyond. The cruise industry employs many at the cruise port terminal and they hope it will be ready for when cruises plan to resume in Spring 2021. In other news that is difficult for some, Cunard Cruise line has announced that those who have medical conditions and need oxygen (to bring onboard) and/or dialysis will not be able to cruise with Cunard during this time. Those who have CPAP machines for sleep apnea need not worry as this does not affect them. In other sad cruise news, Royal Caribbean has sold 2 older cruise ships. The Empress of the Seas appears to have been sold to Cordelia Cruises in India. Viking cruises has shared their health and safety protocols for their ocean going cruise ships. In a first for the cruise industry, Viking will have a PCR lab on it's cruise ships. Part of the protocols for health and safety as they start sailing again is daily testing for passenger and crew.
