Creator's Key Takeaways

We are just pulling up to the dock now in Puerto Renos, Costa Rica.

I'm going to go get some banana and give them and I'll be right back.

We're in one of the uh most crocodile infested waters. And I'm uncomfortably too close to the water level here.

I love Costa Rica.

Creator's Tips & Advice

If you have anemia, try stinky toe fruit for iron.

YouTube Video Description

Welcome to Day 10 of our 16‑day Panama Canal cruise aboard the Carnival Spirit — and our first day exploring the incredible wildlife and culture of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. This port instantly became one of the most memorable stops of the entire trip, and we had so much footage that we had to split it into two parts. Today’s video is all about monkeys, macaws, crocodiles, toucans, and Costa Rican traditions. We start the morning with an early arrival and a hearty breakfast before joining our small‑group tour. Our first stop is the famous Monkey House, where wild capuchin monkeys climb onto our shoulders, check our pockets, and happily pose for photos in exchange for bananas. It’s chaotic, adorable, and unforgettable. Next, we learn about Costa Rican fruits and local food traditions — from pejibaye (peach palm fruit) to massive buttery avocados and the hilariously named stinky toe fruit. After that, we spot scarlet macaws perched in the trees, watching us with their bright red and blue feathers. Then it’s time for a crocodile river safari, where we glide along one of the most crocodile‑dense rivers in the country. We see huge crocs like Chakita and Rocky Balboa, along with herons, sandpipers, frigate birds, and more macaws. Our guide mixes humor with fascinating facts, making the experience both thrilling and educational. We wrap up Part 1 with a stop to see toucans and learn about the plants and fruits growing along the trail — and trust us, there’s still so much more to come in Part 2. Thanks for joining us on this wild Costa Rican adventure! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe so you don’t miss Part 2 and the rest of our Panama Canal journey. 🇨🇷🐒🐊✨
