A tour of Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam in September 2019. This deck by deck walk will highlight each of the features onboard the cruise ship. This ship debuted in 2010 and currently sails the Caribbean in the wintertime and Alaska during the summers. Sister to the Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam is one of two Signature-class ships with Holland America Line. The Vista-class (Noordam, Oosterdam, Westerdam, and Zuiderdam) were built before the Signature-class, and then the Pinnacle-class came along in 2016 (Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam). This is also the first class of ship to get the Asian-fusion venue Tamarind. This specialty dining restaurant is located on the 11th floor of the ship. There are two pools that are located on deck nine. The midship pool has a retractable roof which makes it perfect in inclement weather and when sailing in Alaska during those chilly days.
