"Oceana" & "Queen Victoria" depart from Southampton - 10/01/2019
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
January 10th is the day the CUNARD ships usually go on their World Cruises. This has been the case for the several years especially with "Queen Mary 2". For "Queen Victoria" and "Queen Elizabeth" it has varied. Thursday 10th January 2019 saw both "Queen Mary 2" and "Queen Victoria" in port along with P&O Cruises' "Oceana". This day was "Queen Mary 2's" 15th Birthday having been named on 10th January 2004 and was also "Oceana's" final call to Southampton for the foreseeable future as she is relocating to spend the Winter Months in Dubai. In this video we see "Oceana" departing from the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal shortly after 17:00pm heading off on her 20-night repositioning cruise to Dubai via the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal. This is followed by the Fireworks display for the two Queens and then followed at around 17:30pm by the departure of "Queen Victoria" from the City Cruise Terminal on her 107-night World Cruise. Unfortunately for some reason "Queen Mary 2" was delayed and did not sail until just before 20:00pm on her own 94-night World Cruise. Viewed from Hythe Marina Village.
