Creator's Key Takeaways

I would suggest wearing shoes you don't mind getting dirty. So, don't wear shoes you can't clean. And also don't wear shoes that are not going to protect your feet.

Something to keep in mind when you take the hike out to Nugget Falls is that there are no facilities out here. No water, no food, no restroom.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description↓

For our day in Juneau, we rented a Turo so we could take the day at our own pace. Our first stop was the Shrine of St. Therese out past Auke Bay. We spent several hours here enjoying the scenery and looking at the wildlife. From the shrine, we were able to see a pod of Orca whales and a marmot! After leaving the shrine, we drove back to Auke Bay to have lunch at the Forbidden Peak Brewery. Lunch was great, even if I did get some unexpected news from my boss while we were there. Next stop was Mendenhall Glacier. We explored the visitor's center and then mom and I walked out to Nugget Falls. It's a couple of miles round trip, so definitely wear good shoes! After our time at Mendenhall came to a close, we returned to downtown Juneau and dropped Emma off so she could do a little shopping before returning to the ship. Mom and I took the car to the gas station to top up on fuel before returning the car. Then mom purchased a pair of much-needed gloves at the Red Dog Mercantile. We shopped our way back toward the ship, and made a stop at the Alaskan Brewing tasting room for a beer flight. As we were walking back to the ship and looking for some souvenir shirts, we ran across a familiar shirt I had ruined a couple of years ago in a bad accident. They still have that same shirt, and now I am convinced it's a cursed shirt. We went to Alfredo's Pizza on the ship for dinner before settling down in the room for bedtime.
