Our AMAZING Day in Portland! | D-Day Museum & A VERY Special Island Tour | Bolette

YouTube Video Description↓
Portland Dorset was our first port of call on our Fred. Olsen Bolette cruise, and this turned into one of the most memorable days of the entire trip! 🇬🇧🚢 We started our day at the Castletown D-Day Museum, where Steve very kindly gave us an incredible access-all-areas tour, sharing the fascinating WWII history of Portland and the role the island played during the D-Day preparations. Thanks to https://www.stratusimagery.co.uk for the fabulous drone footage. But Steve wasn’t finished there! He then took us on a very special tour of Portland in a 1942 Dodge Command Car. Seeing the island from behind the wheel of a genuine WWII vehicle made this a truly unforgettable experience. Back onboard Bolette, we head to the Poolside Grill before enjoying dinner in the buffet, then spend the evening exploring some of the ship’s bars before rounding off the day with a coffee nightcap. This is another episode of our #CruisingFromHome adventure and our first ever cruise with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. If you’re considering a cruise to Portland, interested in D-Day and WWII history, or simply curious about what life is like aboard Fred. Olsen’s Bolette, we hope you’ll enjoy coming along with us. This video contains hosted elements as part of our collaboration with Liverpool Cruise Port and its Port Partners, including our hosted sailing with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. The visit to the Castletown D-Day Museum and the tour of Portland were hosted experiences. As always, all opinions, experiences and recommendations are completely our own. #FredOlsen #Bolette #PortlandDorset #CruisingFromHome #CruiseVlog #DDay #WWII #LiverpoolCruisePort
