Creator's Key Takeaways
It's a great way to wake up in the morning, for sure. Have your coffee, have some breakfast, and stare at glaciers and and uh beautiful scenery.
Every time you think you've seen the best one, another one comes into view, and somehow it's even bigger or more dramatic than the last.
We're going to call this a win across the board, but goes to show you go with the flow. Things don't always work out in Alaska, but this did.
It's only a 5-minute walk from the port and very much worth it. The ambiance is great here.

Juneau Alaska whale watching, Endicott Arm, Dawes Glacier, and Alaska cruise excursions all in one unforgettable day! Join us as our whale watching tour gets canceled—but Alaska still delivers an incredible adventure. What started as a disappointing day quickly turned into one of our favorite experiences of our Alaska cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas. Our day begins with a breathtaking scenic cruise through Endicott Arm, where we sail past towering waterfalls, floating icebergs, and the spectacular Dawes Glacier after our original Tracy Arm itinerary was changed. Later, we arrive in Juneau, Alaska, only to discover our whale watching excursion has been canceled because of a mechanical issue. Instead of giving up, we find another tour with Juneau Tours & Whale Watch, proving why flexibility is one of the most important parts of any Alaska cruise. Our replacement tour takes us to Auke Bay, where we encounter humpback whales, learn fascinating facts about their migration from Hawaii and Mexico, witness incredible tail dives, and even spot the famous whale Flame, known as "Super Mom." Along the way, we also enjoy some unexpected entertainment from a group of playful Steller sea lions. Before heading back to the ship, we wrap up our day with a stop at the famous Deckhand Dave's to sample some of Juneau's most popular fish tacos.
