On May 20th the Ovation of the Seas made her inaugural visit to Skagway Alaska. While spending the day in port I booked the "Yukon Adventure & White Pass Scenic Railway" excursion directly through Royal Caribbean. We met the excursion right at the pier when getting off the ship. A bus then took us down the pier and through the historic town to where we met our train. The train ride then took us along the Yukon and White Pass Railway with a guide onboard providing history and commentary of all the sights along the way including information on the construction of the rail line as well as the US/Canada border. At the end of the line Canadian Mounties boarded the train to check passports before allowing us off. We then boarded another bus that took us on a tour of the Yukon including a stop at a suspension bridge to view the scenery, cross the bridge, and have a lunch before returning to Skagway for a drive through the town to learn some of the history and see the area.
