The agent, whose mission is to protect the country and her citizens from harm a visitor may cause, has to rule you out as a possible terrorist, human trafficker, or something more mundane like overstaying your tourist visa. They have to do this in a very short amount of time with the stakes very high. Please respect the fact that they have a very important job.
