Darren and Susan from Retiredtimetocruise share one of their favourite Laughlin excursions with you. Just a short drive from Laughlin, Nevada, you can access Grapevine Canyon from the Christmas Tree Pass road on I95 north of Laughlin. Grapevine Canyon is part of Spirit Mountain and is home to hundreds of petroglyphs. These range from geometric shapes and sun drawings to animal and godlike spirit shapes. They are believed to have been created in about 1100 - more than 1000 years ago. It is an easy, flat walk on loose gravel about a quarter mile to the canyon entrance. Some moderate climbing will bring you closer to the petroglyphs but they are easily visible without climbing. This is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a few hours getting a bit of exercise and checking out a mystery from the past. Bonus - there is no entry fee to access this park.
