If you're planning a cruise stop in Philipsburg, this vlog is your perfect guide! Our MSC Seaview cruise departed from Philipsburg cruise port. We were so excited about visiting St Maarten and spent a night in Philipsburg before boarding the cruise ship. Our hotel was conveniently located right on Great Bay Beach. Philipsburg is the capital of St Maarten, which is a Dutch territory in the Caribbean and officially part of The Netherlands. It uniquely shares the island with Saint Martin, the French-owned part. The area where ships dock at Philipsburg cruise port is near the centre of the city. The main shopping streets, Front Street and Back Street, are within easy walking distance of the cruise pier. Great Bay Beach is also easy to get to with bars and restaurants all along the seafront. During our cruise, we returned to Philipsburg cruise port for another day and took a cruise excursion to Marigot on the French side of Saint Martin and the famous Maho Beach.
