YouTube Video Description↓
Hi and welcome, on this video of our Norway Cruise we visit Flam and take a trip on its railway. The Flam Railway, also known as Flamsbana, is a railway line in Norway that runs between the village of Flam in Aurland Municipality and the high mountain station of Myrdal on the Bergen Line. It is known for its stunning views of the Norwegian fjords and the surrounding mountains, and is considered to be one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world. The Flam Railway is approximately 20 kilometers long and takes about an hour to complete. It has a maximum gradient of 5.5% and passes through 20 tunnels and over numerous bridges and viaducts. The railway was constructed between 1924 and 1940 and was built to transport goods and passengers between the remote villages of the area. Today, the Flam Railway is a popular tourist attraction, with hundreds of thousands of visitors taking the journey each year. The train runs year-round, and in the summer months, it is often crowded, so it's a good idea to book your tickets in advance. The train also offers several stops along the way where passengers can get off and take in the stunning scenery. If you ever visit Flam and take a trip on the train MAKE SURE you sit on the Righthand side of the train, as the views are much much better this side of the train. join us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/372710791279047/?ref=share_group_link @TravelswiththeRussells email us with any questions : travelswiththerussells@gmail.com #norway #FlamNorway #FlamRailroad #FlamTrain
