PRINCESS CRUISE HAWAII EXCURSION CANCELLED | KAUAI Port Area SURPRISE takes you to the nearby walkable areas of the the Nawiliwili harbor. What do you do when your shore excursion cancels? What is traveling like being the first ship back to Hawaii in over two years? We explore around the port and are pleasantly surprised to see the beauty of the Nawiliwili harbor and the nice beach right within walking distance from our Grand Princess ship! The beach is called Kalapaki Beach. It is a great beach for swimming, learning to surf, boogie boarding and stand up paddle. boarding. There is a public beach access on the east end of the beach. It is a protected from the open ocean by a large break wall. As you walk to the beach, there are some souvenir shops lining the road and also a shaved ice place at he Kalapaki Beach Hut, across the walking ridge. We had some snacks, lunch at Duke's on the beach. The Marriott Resort and Beach Club offers a day pass for access to their pool with a $30 food credit. No lockers. So our cancelled tour with Princess Cruises Grand Princess at 12:30 didn't ruin our day!
