Those caught breaking the rule can face fines of about $158, so it’s wise to check local regulations before popping a cork. Starting July 1, 2025, France will also implement a broad outdoor smoking ban, according to The Economic Times. The new rules will apply to beaches, public parks, and areas near schools, with violations carrying fines of $134. And when it comes to attire, France isn't afraid to lay down the law. Several towns along the Côte d’Azur, including Cannes, have banned revealing swimwear outside of beach areas.
