15Today's video explores Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala. This is the seventh port of our DIY World cruise on the Norwegian Encore. Puerto Quetzal is a popular cruise ship destination because it’s the main Pacific port in Guatemala. From there, you can visit Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage site , Coffee plantations, beaches, and wildlife reserves. The Puerto Quetzal cruise terminal is well-equipped and offers easy access to local tours, shops, and nearby attractions. It is recommended to use formal excursions from this port. NCL offers fourteen excursions in this port. There are a wide variety of choices but if you go to Antigua - it looks like you’re visiting the Jade museum. In addition to a variety of tours visiting different historic sites, there is a rum tasting, a craft beer tasting, a resort day pass, a volcano hike, a coffee plantation, and a macadamia nut plantation. We’ve also researched what tours are available here through viator. There are over 20 available but we’ve narrowed them down to 15. None of these tours mention a Jade factory! There are a few that resemble ship tours but then there are horse riding and ATV, and resort day passes and coffee and macadamia nuts and rum and wine and leather and of course volcanoes.
