Queen Victoria, Oceana & Aurora with firework display Southampton 03/01/18
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
Today the 03/01/18 was the first venture out for me of 2018 to begin another year of filming cruise ships in Southampton and on this day there were 3 in port. There was P&O Cruise Ships the 'Oceana' & 'Aurora' with Cunards 'Queen Victoria'. The 'Queen Victoria' which was berthed in the City Cruise Terminal was the very first to depart at 16:41pm for a 4 Night Hamburg Short Break Cruise V802A. The City Cruise Terminal was being used for 'Queen Victoria' in place of her originally planned berth of Ocean Cruise Terminal due to the very high winds resulting from the recent storm we have had. She was then followed by P&O Cruises Ship 'Oceana' from the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal at 18:21pm for a 35 Night Caribbean, Mexico and Panama Cruise. Her first port of call is La Coruna. Then last of all was P&O Cruises Ship 'Aurora' from the Mayflower Cruise Terminal which had departed slightly earlier than 'Oceana' at 18:11pm to be in position for a spectacular firework display for 'Aurora' she was assisted from her berth with the tug Svitzer Eston and the Fawley based tug Lomax. She is off for a 65 Night South America Circumnavigation Cruise. Her first port of call is Funchal, Madeira. This video was filmed from the locations of Mayflower Park & Town Quay.
