Join us on an exciting visit to Rijeka, Croatia, where we explore the vibrant city and its historic castle. 🌆 Here’s a glimpse into our adventure: Highlights of the Video: • Travel: Our bus journey from Pula to Rijeka. 🚌 • Accommodation: First look at our beautiful Hotel Continental, with its stunning entrance and cozy room. 🏨 • City Center: A walk through the small city center, showcasing Rijeka’s modern vibe compared to the medieval towns we’ve visited. 🏙️ • Botel Marina: A look at Botel Marina, a unique hotel option we considered. 🚢 • Kings Caffe Pub: Enjoying drinks at Kings Caffe Pub, where Lanette had a gin and tonic for 6 euros and Johan had a beer for 4 euros. 🍹🍺 • McDonald’s Stop: A quick stop at McDonald’s for two burgers, fries, and a drink for 10 euros. 🍔🍟 • Walking Streets: Strolling through Rijeka’s nice walking streets and noting the numerous automats in the city. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ • Castle Exploration: Visiting Trsat Castle, a historic fortress offering stunning views of Rijeka. 🏯 Built in the 13th century, the castle stands on a strategic hilltop overlooking the city and the Rječina River. The castle is free to visit, and we took a $7 Bolt ride from our hotel to get there. 🚖 Lanette bravely climbed to the top to capture some amazing videos. 📸 • Monastery Visit: Exploring the nearby monastery and the surprisingly large town with shops and restaurants. 🏞️ • Lunch Break: Stopping for a wrap for lunch and eating it in the shade in front of a school where Johan enjoyed feeding the pigeons. 🌯🐦 Join us as we discover the charm and history of Rijeka.
