About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

Our final full day onboard Cunard’s Queen Victoria came right after the spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations at sea — but the ocean had its own plans. With rough seas and the ship listing noticeably, navigating the decks became an adventure in itself. We began the morning with breakfast in the Lido Restaurant, then braved the windy open aft deck for some fresh (and chilly) sea air. Indoors, we enjoyed a relaxing drink in the Chart Room, where we were pleasantly surprised to see the return of traditional paper menus. The afternoon was a highlight — Afternoon Tea in the Britannia Restaurant — complete with perfectly cut sandwiches, warm scones, and delicate cakes. In the evening, we dined at The Verandah Restaurant, Queen Victoria’s speciality steakhouse, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. Our last night was spent enjoying the ship’s atmosphere: Commodore Club, Queens Room, and The Golden Lion Pub. In the early hours, we arrived back at Southampton’s Queen Elizabeth 2 Terminal and disembarked after one final stroll along the promenade deck. Launched in December 2007, she was the first Cunard ship to be named by a member of the British royal family, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Built by Fincantieri in Italy, Queen Victoria is the second-largest ship in the Cunard fleet, measuring 965 feet in length and carrying up to 2,081 guests and 981 crew. Her design echoes the golden age of ocean travel, with grand staircases, rich wood paneling, and art deco-inspired interiors. Queen Victoria offers a unique blend of British tradition and contemporary cruising. She features spacious staterooms, many with private balconies, and a range of dining options, including the elegant Britannia Restaurant and the exclusive Queens Grill and Princess Grill suites. Guests enjoy a variety of amenities, such as a two-story library, a Royal Court Theatre with private boxes, a spa and wellness center, swimming pools, and traditional afternoon tea in the Queens Room. Known for world voyages and transatlantic crossings, Queen Victoria is a favorite for travelers seeking refined experiences. She continues to uphold Cunard’s legacy of elegance, offering a blend of heritage, luxury, and adventure on the high seas.
